He doesn't know what he's expecting. He really doesn't. He just knows he needs something, someone, and he'd ended up here. She was a friend from school, that was all. She didn't care that he had a bad reputation and she didn't constantly nag him like Keiko did. He could relax around her, and that's what he really needed right now.
"Can I come in?" He asks. "Just to talk."
It's rare, those words coming out of his mouth. He almost never wants to 'just talk' with any of his friends. Mikono's different, though. He doesn't feel judged or emasculate when he talks to her. Just this once. Just this once, it's okay. It's okay to drop his guard a little, to let out some of his frustration in stupid, girly talking. If it means he'll calm down enough that he doesn't go and thrash those guys within an inch of their life… Then he can handle talking.
